Play of the Game

Curtis Granderson makes diving catches look almost routine. He’s impressive enough when you see him do this on T. V. I was at the game last night and can now fully appreciate how far he has to run before he even gets to the ball, let alone catch it. This one saved what could have been a run-scoring triple.

After Jason Grilli gave up a grand slam home run in the top of the eighth (which resulted in the loudest chorus of booes I’ve ever heard), this catch resulted in cheers that could be heard in Windsor, I’m sure.

Comerica Park sure gets loud.

Sounds like a good game. Glad you enjoyed it, Ray!

And, Curtis did it again tonight in Cleveland: He ran three miles, dove, and caught a sharply sinking line drive to save two runs! Every pitchers friend, Curtis.
